Sandie Hendrix - Owner and Instructor

After a lengthy career in retail, Sandie decided to follow her passion for movement and became certified through the American Council on Exercise in group fitness and personal training. In 1999, She opened her first gym, Pump Fitness, in Valparaiso, Indiana, offering group fitness and personal training. In 2004, Sandie completed her NCPT National Pilates Certification, and Pilates was added to the gym. Moving to Central Florida in 2014, Sandie decided to focus solely on Pilates. In 2017, she opened Personal Touch Pilates in Lake Mary, Florida. Since 2004, Sandie has completed numerous continuing education courses; her specialty is pre- and post-rehab Pilates. Sandie has been an educator for balance body Pilates and has taught numerous courses throughout the US. When not teaching Pilates, Sandie likes to spend time with family and friends, listening to music, and enjoying the beautiful Florida weather.

Katie Johnson, BFA, NCPT - Pilates Instructor

Katie’s interest in Pilates started in high school through her extensive dance training. When Pilates became an essential part of her recovery from an ankle injury her senior year; she was hooked on the practice and knew Pilates had the potential to play a significant role in her future career as a dancer. While working towards her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance, Katie developed an interest in preventive therapies and injury recovery after witnessing many of her peers suffer from injuries that could have been prevented and helped through the low impact strength and alignment training that Pilates offers. This interest led her to the Polestar Pilates Comprehensive Training Program, where she received 500+ hours of training, practice, and observation. After receiving her BFA in dance and graduating from the Polestar Pilates Program as a practitioner in 2019, Katie then earned her national certification through the National Pilates Certification Program under the Pilates Method Alliance, where she continues to learn and grow her practice through continuing education. As a professional dancer and Pilates instructor, Katie hopes to bring her love and passion for movement and healing through movement together in all of her Pilates work. It is her hope that in doing so her clients may experience the full benefit of what Pilates has to offer and the joy of connecting with their own bodies in a way they may never have before.


Alison Hesh - Pilates Instructor

Alison Hesh is a renowned ballet dancer, instructor, and Pilates educator whose dance and fitness journey is inspiring and impactful. She began ballet training at 9 at the Ballet Academy of Miami and further honed her skills at prestigious institutions like the Joffrey Ballet in New York. As a principal dancer and Ballet Mistress at Bay Ballet Theatre, Alison not only showcased her talent but also nurtured younger dancers.

Though offered a full scholarship to Juilliard, Alison chose a broader academic path, earning a BA in Art History from the University of Miami and a Master's in English Literature from Florida International University, teaching literature at both universities.

In 2008, she opened The Ballet Space in Miami, which also served as a Pilates studio. Alison, trained by the PhysicalMind Institute, opened Soul Purpose Studio, offering Pilates to a wide range of clients and working with athletes, including the University of Miami's women's swim team and two Olympic hopefuls.

In 2021, Alison moved to Deland to be closer to family. She continues to inspire through her work at Personal Touch Pilates, fostering a community passionate about movement and well-being.
